Quran player: mute, speed, and verse position with the English translation on
- Incident
- minor
- Resolved
For a period, with the English audio translation turned on, the Quran player's Mute button and the keyboard speed shortcuts did not take effect, and turning the translation on at the very start of a chapter could move playback to the wrong verse. The recitation itself kept playing and no data was affected. These were found in a routine review of the player rather than reported, and each was fixed; mute and the speed controls now work with the translation on, and enabling it at the start of a chapter keeps your place. If you still see the older behavior, reload the page once.

investigating
06:04 UTCWe are looking into a set of issues in the Quran player that appear when the English audio translation is turned on: the Mute button and the keyboard speed shortcuts may not take effect, and turning the translation on at the very start of a chapter can move playback to the wrong verse. This surfaced in a routine review rather than a report, and the recitation itself is playing normally.
