Prayer Times and Islamic Calendar could display an out-of-date next prayer or date
- Incident
- major
- Resolved
Some visitors saw an incorrect next prayer on the Prayer Times page, or a stale date on the Islamic Calendar, with different devices showing different values for the same location. The cause was a caching issue: these time-sensitive values were calculated when the page was generated and then cached, so they could freeze and be served out of date. Both pages now keep these values current on every visit.

resolved
03:56 UTCThis incident is resolved. The next prayer now updates live on every device and the Islamic Calendar shows the correct current date. We also corrected a related issue where the spoken Tomorrow note on the prayer countdown was not announced. Thank you to the community member who reported this.

monitoring
03:50 UTCA fix has been deployed. The Prayer Times page now calculates the next prayer and countdown live in your browser on every visit, so it is always current regardless of caching. The Islamic Calendar is no longer served from the edge cache, so its date and today highlight stay current. We are monitoring to confirm.

identified
03:33 UTCWe have identified the cause. The next prayer and its countdown were calculated when the page was generated and then cached at our content delivery network and in the browser, so the value could freeze at the moment a cached copy was created and be served out of date. The Islamic Calendar's current date and today highlight were affected by the same issue. A fix is being implemented.
